The Scope of the New Civilization Game is Huge

Submitted by on February 27, 2010 – 11:52 am5 Comments

2K Games released a new trailer for Civilization V, and to say it is large in scope is an understatement.  Yes, the Civilization games have always been about building a society from a single settler to a super power, but it has never felt large, when it comes to your cities and nation as a whole.  But looking at the images in the Civ V trailer, I feel that Fireaxis and 2K Games are going to try and show off how massive a society and a city can be.  I mean the shot with the Egyptian city and the huge Pyramid in the background was an awesome sight to behold.  Mix in some great voice overs for the trailer, and I am anxiously awaiting Fall 2010 for Civilization V’s release.

Mmmmm, dreamy… Digging the switch to a hex grid over the square grid.

I agree. It looks much smoother and sexier. Oh, and where have you been?

Being in history class this semester makes me want to play some Civilization. But I always seem to make my playthroughs uneventful because I only win by conquering the other nations. I'm not good at cultural, economic, or scientific victories.

I am in school again sir. Learning to make more money than I am worth.

Well, congratulations! Money is good stuff! I just thought you had forgotten about us (and by “us,” I mean “me”) and moved on.
