Starcraft II closed beta begins
Recently, Blizzard talked about how they’re going to reboot their online platform Battle.net, in what seemed like an effort to make it more like a proprietary version of Steam or Impulse. Now, via Battle.net, they’ve started the Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty closed beta, with ‘thousands of gamers around the world’ receiving invites to join the fun, and get a first look at the new Battle.net service. However, this is only the first phase, so many more may be joining the fun soon. If you want to get in the beta, you need to sign up for a Battle.net account, and pray to the Blizzard gods that you will be thrown a beta key. Starcraft II Wings of Liberty (that’s Part 1 – the Terran campaign) is ‘slated to ship in the first half of 2010′.
