Settlers 7 New Feature – Victory Points

Submitted by on February 19, 2010 – 2:09 pm3 Comments

Today, we received a new video from Ubisoft showing off the new Victory Points system for Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom.  The Victory Points system allows players to choose the way that they play the game, setting the victory conditions to their playstyle.  It also affords them an extra challenge by changing the victory conditions to something completely contradictory to their playstyle.

Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom drops on PCs March 23rd, 2010.  Check out the video after the jump.

They say it gives the player more choices etc but all it does is force you to rush through each level and get victory points before the opponent does. Thats not fun in my oppinion. Half of the new technologies you get don't get used because you usually have to finish the level off before you have the chance. The victory point system was a good idea but they have based the game around it too much. I think a lot of users will always prefer the “battle it out til the last man stands” approach but the victory point feature totally prevents this. I think they should patch the game to make the feature optional.

talk about the victory points—it sucks. That idea from some ubi idiots who successfully turned the game style from strategy to RTS,and rush the AI is the only way you can win the game…

Sorry but i hate victory points,i like to beat all and have incredible economy, but here its not possible,u get too many of them and win too quick or too little and loose :(
