New Steam UI beta is shiny.
Prepare yourselves for a surprise, Steam fans! Valve has begun the open beta for the new Steam UI (see above image). I looks an awful lot nicer, is laid out better, and includes some cool new tricks. You can now arrange your games library more effectively, achievement tracking and new focus on functionality pertaining to your Steam friends list. Most importantly, for my money at least, they’ve ditched the Internet Explorer-based browsing system, and moved to a WebKit-based system, which should make it suck less. That’s it in a nutshell, for details, Valve’s published a whole list of what’s going on. If you want to get into the beta, Valve’s got instructions here.

Eh, if it's heavier on system resources that will make me unhappy since with some games it has to sit in the background after you launch them.
