Collector’s Clips: Ms Pac-Man/Galaga Class of ’81

mspac-smallIn 2000, Namco released a special arcade cabinet that combined Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga into a special “Class of 1981″ machine. From what I can tell, they prepared three different versions: a coin-op upright, a coin-op cocktail model, and a free play, slightly smaller version intended for home use.

At an arcade auction several years ago, I picked up some flyers about the Class of 1981 unit, and the full scans are after the jump. Not to kill your buzz, but the best bit is the ad copy on the “Homecoming” flyer: “After 20 years of hanging out in bars and arcades… She is finally coming home.”

Also, the Class of 1981 models included the original Pac-Man as an Easter Egg. At the select screen input up, up, up, down, down, down, left, right, left, right, left, start.
