Review: Dragon Ball Z – Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3)

October 28, 2011 – 12:44 pm |

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

Ones to Watch: Wii and DS for February 2010

Submitted by on January 30, 2010 – 4:29 pm8 Comments

sonic-racingTatsunoko vs Capcom and No More Heroes 2 made January a pretty good lookin’ month for Wii owners. February doesn’t look quite as good for Nintendo’s twin engines of retail destruction, but maybe you’ll find a new Wii or DS release in here to pass the time until Silent Hill: Shattered Memories drops in price.

February 2
DS – Imagine: Reporter may be one of the best Imagine games yet. I hope it teaches kids how to talk with a fake inflection and pretend to be confused at modern day technologies like “My Space.”

February 9
Wii – Shiren the Wanderer is a roguelike series that dates back to the SNES. This is the third in the series; the gameplay style was borrowed by the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series.

Wii – Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll makes use of the Balance Board, but you can default to the Remote+Nunchuk if you’d rather.

February 10
Wii – Sam & Max: Season Two – Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space might arrive on this date and it might not. IGN has it slotted here, but Telltale’s website still says Coming Soon.

February 16
DS – Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth features Edgy-baby’s return, in a different sort of Ace Attorney game. You actually walk.

DS – Ragnanok is the DS version of a PC MMORPG. In fact, if you pre-order the DS game, you get stuff for the PC version.

DS – KORG DS-10 Plus had its release date plussed a couple weeks from the January date we reported last month.

February 23
Wii – Endless Ocean: Blue World will bring fish-petting to a whole new level (voice chat!)

Wii – Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing will arrive on multiple platforms, but lately Sonic has most firmly allied himself with Nintendo. Seems fair to assume his kart racer will do well on the Wii.

Super Monkey Ball with Balance Board support looks like the best option for this month, but I'd still prefer people bought NH2 and TvC that was released at the end of January.

  • I'm reporting on my SPACEPAGE!

Seriously, Joe. Endless Ocean 2. I'm there. Day One. I'll even buy a mic. Promise, this time.

  • Joe Fourhman says:

I don't believe you. You've hurt me before. I'll need to see a photo of you holding the game and today's newspaper before I get it myself.

  • Joe Fourhman says:

I think I'd pick Sonic & SEGA All Stars as the top game of the month, if only because I like the angle of kart racing through game-nostalgia fan service tracks. Though I'll need to hear that the controls are as good as Mario Kart before I bite.
