Metroid: Other M stirs from silence with a new video

Submitted by Stephen Munn on January 31, 2010 – 3:18 pmComments

This video is taken from Nintendo’s Japanese website for the upcoming Wii title, Metroid: Other M. I placed my preorder for this game last week, so I’m ready.

It’s brief, and it’s just some short dialog and then a still picture and some piano music. It’s hard to know what to take away from this, except that perhaps the music in the game won’t be electronic like it was in the other games. I recently learned that the woman you see here, who’s all over the other trailer as well, is not Samus Aran. Who is she? The official line is she’s “someone very important.”

Could she be a daughter Samus had with Adam… who dies some time between this game and its sequel, Metroid Fusion?

I didn't think I could be anymore unexcited for this game. Only Nintendo could find a way.

Well, they've given us almost nothing to go on. We know Samus is in it, and we've seen what appears to be some first person and some third person gameplay, and we've seen some monsters from past games which may or may not be flashbacks or dreams. We've also seen that girl, and Samus' Commanding Officer, Adam. I'm hoping for a huge reveal soon.
