God of War III Release Date and Collection Price Drop
God of War III has a March 16th release date according to the PlayStation Blog. If you haven’t picked up the God of War Collection yet at its original $40 price point the Blog also announced that it’s received a price cut to $30. A quick peek at online retailers proves that yep, it’s now thirty bones — that’s just 15 bucks for each of the two top-notch action games remastered in HD with Trophy support.
I nabbed my copy of the Collection for $40 plus a $20 BestBuy gift card a while back, a card I’ve more than depleted thanks to the LittleBigPlanet Pirates of the Carribean Pack and last week’s sale pricing on UNO, Critter Crunch, and Zen Pinball.
I’m a huge God of War fan, but even without Circuit City in the mix — a moment of silence for the loss of its pricing pressure on its competitors, please — retailers online or off typically find a way to nip a few bucks off a game at or around launch, so I’ll avoid preordering. We’ve all got plenty to play in the meantime this Spring, even if you’re not trying to dig out from behind a stack of unplayed Fall 2009 releases like I am.
