Fight Dirty on the Wii no More

Seal Shield, the company behind washable keyboards, mice and TV remotes, have added to their family of water-loving accessories by introducing washable Wii peripherals.
The company have launched four new bundles, each tailored specifically for Will Fit, Wii Resort, Wii Sports and Wii racing games, including tennis rackets, frisbees, boxing gloves and steering wheels. Manufactured from washable antimicrobial foams, silicones and plastics, they help to reduce to cross-contamination of bugs and germs, including superbugs like the Norovirus and MRSA. And thanks to the Seal Shield waterproof technology, whenever your wiimote starts to look a bit grubby, cleaning it is simple – you can simply pop it into your dishwasher or into a bowl of hot soapy water.
The inspiration behind this? The growing utilisation of Wiis in hospitals and healthcare.
“Many of our hospital and institutional healthcare customers were asking us to create Wii accessories for physical therapy in highly infectious areas,” states Seal Shield LLC Chief Executive Officer, Brad Whitchurch. “We did focus group market research and found that consumers also recognize the benefits of Seal Shield technology for gaming products. Consumers want an enhanced gaming experience and they are increasingly aware of the transmittal of germs, so we created the most complete multi-player solutions, containing safety soft foam, IR compatibility, SEAL SHIELD(TM) washable technology and SILVER SEAL(TM) technology for antimicrobial protection of the products.”
And yes, that was a cheesy headline but just think: I could’ve done a crap pun on the words ‘wii/wee’ and ‘dirt’ with this story instead, so be grateful I took the road less gross, my friends.

Get out of town. They guarantee my dishwasher won't destroy my Wii Remote? Wow.
I like the idea of putting remote controls in a dishwasher.
Not the idea of ever doing so or owning such a device, but just that someone in our vasty, human society have devoted time and effort to ensuring that there, indeed, exists a device boasting such an ability.
How far we've come, fellow human mammals!
I'm just glad that Seal Shield have thought of this washable Wii peripherals, since most of us know that video games are not just for entertainment, they're beneficial as well for medical treatment where cleanliness is a top priority. Great job!
