The Annual Steam Sale Has Started

2009_Steam_Annual_Holiday_Sale

Well, I am sure that many people were scratching their head like I was when they went to Steam today to find the mid-week deal, only to find there was no mid-week deal.  Well, now we know why, as they were prepping for the Annual Steam End of Year Sale.  This is the time of year when Steam users basically go broke due to all the awesome deals to be found on the service.

Starting today, almost all of the games on Steam will be marked with discounts of up to 80% off.  Also, each day, Steam will take a select few titles that get an extra discount.  Just for example, today’s special deals include STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl at $1.99, Mirror’s Edge at $4.99 and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising for $19.99.

As for myself, I am pacing myself this year so I don’t put myself too far in the hole.  I started off with Judge Dredd vs. Judge Death for $1.99, Twin Sector for $9.99, Killing Floor for $9.99 and finally, AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! – A Reckless Disregard for Gravity for $7.49.  That last one had been on my list for awhile now, just due to the insanity of the name.  Check the jump for a few more of the nice deals that can be found on Steam this week.

Here is a small sampling of the discounted titles available:

Tropico 3 Steam Edition – $19.99
GTA IV – $7.49
Defense Grid: The Awakening – $2.49
Ghostbusters – $6.79
id Super Pack – $34.99
Indigo Prophecy – $3.39
Evil Genius – $1.99
Freedom Force – $3.34
The Witcher: Director’s Cut – $13.59

and so much more.
