Bethesda Parent Company Acquires Rage Publishing Rights

Earlier this year, we received some shocking news that Bethesda Softworks parent company, Zenimax, had acquired id Software, adding to its formidable stable of developers. However, the item that left a lot of people scratching their head was what Zenimax would get from the transaction. After all, Doom 4 was suppose to be published by Activision, along with Wolfenstein, and Rage was already signed to Electronic Arts.
Well, today, Zenimax acquired the rights to publish Rage from Electronic Arts. There was no word on whether money or other compensation was sent to Electronic Arts, but as Pete Hines said in his email today, “Electronic Arts Inc. will not be involved in the sales and marketing of RAGE”. It was also noted that development on Rage would be unaffected by this news.
