Assassins Creed II Will Expand in 2010 With DLC

Submitted by Joe Haygood on December 1, 2009 – 2:06 pmComments

assassinscreed2360boxUbisoft sent out word today that Assassin’s Creed II will be getting some more content at the beginning of the new year.  It seems that there will be two new DLC packs that will hit, one in January and one in February.

The first DLC in January will be entitled “Battle of Forli”, while the second that will arrive in February will be titled, “Bonfire of the Vanities”  Beyond this announcement, we have no other details as to what will be in the DLC.  We also, have no idea of the cost, although mission packs for similar games in the past have run about $9.99 on PS3 or 800 MS Points on the 360.

We do know that the DLC packs will each take up approximately 1GB of hard drive space.  I found it curious to see that in the media announcement, but I guess they want to warn people ahead of schedule that might be on the short end of drive space.  I also wonder if the second DLC pack will have any correlation to the Tom Wolfe novel from so many years ago.

If you recall playing Assassin's Creed II, in the animus there are DNA Sequences listed from one to 14, but 12 and 13 were missing. I have a feeling if these take up those two DNA Sequences, there is going to be a huge uproar from gamers complaining that Ubisoft Montreal purposefully left out these two missions to cash-in later.

Regardless, I won't be picking up either of the two DLC missions. The main storyline was enough Assassin's Creed to hold me for another two years.
