Another Day, Another Mass Effect 2 Trailer, Also Save Import News

Submitted by on December 30, 2009 – 12:24 am2 Comments

With less than a month to go, the Bioware hype machine for Mass Effect 2 is in full swing.  It seems each day brings us a new nugget of information, or another trailer.  With today, we have a little of both.  First off, we have the cinematic trailer that hit the Xbox 360 dashboard last week.  It shows off some rather cool looking action sequences with Thane, Shepard and Grunt.  We also get a few shots at some new enemies.  They are not Geth, but they are not human either.  Are these the Collectors that we have heard about, or some other race that is there to surprise us players.

As for the news, we have a little more info on the save import feature for those that want to bring forward their characters from Mass Effect  to Mass Effect 2.  Depending on where you are at level wise in your save, you will get an extra bonus.  So a level 60 character import will get a bigger boost than a level 36 import.  Bioware did not go into details as to what this bonus would be, but apparently, it is not suppose to affect gameplay balance.  Also, those that have finished the game as a Paragon or Renegade will get an additional dialogue branches in the sequel.  I am hoping that more games will start to add this save import feature.

That cinematic trailer makes my eyes water (and that's meant in a good way, like the equivalent to mouth-watering). I'm gonna have to pre-order the game on Amazon while I still have the Amazon Prime trial.
