Review: Dragon Ball Z – Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3)

October 28, 2011 – 12:44 pm |

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

Aeropodcast #114: More Game of the Year Awards

Submitted by on December 30, 2009 – 3:03 pm15 Comments

YOU'RE_WINNER_trophyPart two of the Aeropodcast awards show is here for your listening pleasure.  Find out how many more categories Resident Evil 5 could possibly be nominated for.  Also, listen in fear as we try to pick our coaster of the year.  And finally, be amazed as we pick a truly great title for Game of the Year.

And just for all of you decade junkies, we did not do a game of the decade award, because the decade does not end until the end of 2010!

Time to give huge props to Stephen “MC Scratch” Munn for mixing  this enormous podcast, and for all the podcasts he has put together.  Again, thank you to Fourhman, Koss, Vikki and Adam for spending four hours of their lives participating in this podcast.  It was epic, and I cannot wait to do it again next year.  Also, props to Lazyitis for providing out new bumper music.  We will have more from them throughout the year.  Make sure to visit their website and give them some digital hi-fives.

The decade does end this year. If we celebrated a new millennium in 2000, the first decade ends in 2009!

    Anyway, you're very welcome. It's always a blast. :)

  • mclazyj says:

The millennium began in 2001, not 2000. Our current Gregorian based calendar began on year 1, not year 0, hence decades beginning on an 01 and ending on a 10. Time experts tend to agree. And yes, the whole point of putting that in the story was to wrankle you a bit!

  • Vixx says:

Gregorian? Calendar? Based? WTF? TALK ENGLISH, DUDE!

Since most of us are NOT time experts, I still think the new decade starts tomorrow. So there, Mr. Scientist Guy.

And wrankled? Me? As if. Pft. :P

  • Vixx says:

    I knew it didn't look right . . .

  • Jordan_Snyder says:

This discussion reminds me of an episode of Seinfeld, wherein Newman and Kramer are planning their new millennium parties years in advance. Jerry eventually points out that Newman's party is planned for 1999 to 2000, when the new millennium would really start in 2001. Good times, good times.

    Troll. :>

  • mclazyj says:

At this point, I am thoroughly convinced that we need to start up a podcast that does nothing but discuss the ins and outs of time. That would be some exciting conversation.

  • Jordan_Snyder says:

Oh yeah, that would be enthralling. “The decade ends this year!” “No it ends next year!” “No it ends this year!” I can't wait.

  • morphiend says:

It would be AWESOME!!! I bet we could get Marty McFly and Doc Brown to guest on some of them and, maybe if you're lucky, we can get a run down on the flux capacitor.

  • Jordan_Snyder says:

Okay, that would be pretty sweet. Only if I could hear Biff say, “Hey, McFly!”and Doc Brown say, “Great Scott, Marty!”

  • Joe Fourhman says:

The real problem is that the way we count time is arbitrary anyway, and has changed several times over the course of history. Don't get me started on Daylight Saving Time.

  • Andrew Adam says:

Just listened to the podcast. So funny, but so bad. I mean really people, do any of you play games besides Haygood and Fourhman? Though I did love the RE5 and Brutal Legend games winning every award.

And Fourhman, you still stink for not liking NSMBW Wii. You are a disappointement to Wii owners everywhere. I love playing with friends – even my fiance who isn't great at gaming and made her way to World 6 with me!

  • I'm putting this here because I'm commenting on something Fourhman said during this podcast…not because it has anything to do with the absurd decade/millennium discussion.

You're right about big, multiplayer NSMBW. The lame players are just in my way. Although I managed to have fun playing with JUST Melissa, the other day. So…maybe 2 players is manageable.

I prefer my Mario Bros. alone, though.
