Aeropodcast #111: Music To My Ears

Submitted by Joe Haygood on December 7, 2009 – 12:46 pmComments

This week on the Aeropodcast, the crew talks up the importance of a great soundtrack in a game.  Each writer talks about his own favorite soundtracks from video games, and how they helped shape their gameplay experience.  Also, find out which member of the Aeropodcast never listened to a game soundtrack until 2004.

We also have another rousing round of Rapid Fire that cannot be missed, along with community participation.  Also, the writers make a case to the listeners to become part of the podcast community.  We know how many people listen, but we would love to have more of those people contribute to the podcast on a weekly basis.  This is the community’s show, so make it part of your community stops each week and participate.  We will be nice, and we have had all of our shots

The podcast was mixed up by Stephen Munn, and features the music of Lazyitis

Guys, just FYI Game Informer's number one game was The Legend of Zelda, AKA, the original NES Zelda. A Link to the Past didn't come until 12, and Ocarina placed at number 20.
  • For serious?!? That is nuts.

Even I know that's crazy, and I don't even like Zelda! Super Mario Bros. should have definitely won, in my opinion.
  • People need to stop being Nintendo fanboys and give the nod to Chrono Trigger.

    [Discussion end.]
  • You all seem to be having entirely too much fun without me lately - not to mention topics I love! Haarrumph.

p.s. How can no-one mention Yamaoka as a favourite composer?! FOR SHAME. He so rocks. (Hence my dismay that no Silent Hill tracks were played at Video Games Live).
  • Yeah, all I can think about is all the games we didn't mention: GTA, LittleBigPlanet, original Mario, Okami.

And to reiterate: TRON SUCKS, DOES NOT COUNT AS A VIDEO GAME, AND SHOULD NOT BE PART OF THE VGL CONCERT.
