"Did anyone else have some great tales of Black Friday shopping? "
First off, your story is awesome.
My BF story is this:
My wife works the overnight shift at a local hospital, we had our first child this past April. BestBuy had a computer that I was really interested in, and I had discussed with some other friends, a way for me to go out.
The original plan was, our other friends would come to my house about 3a.m., and his wife would stay at our house, with their newborn son, and our son, while he and I went BF shopping.
He was gonna drop me off at Best Buy, and he was gonna go elsewhere. Long story short, we canceled the plans, because I knew Best Buy was handing out tickets around 3a.m. and I wouldn't arrive until nearly 4a.m., so I figured I would be too late, and didn't want to inconvenience them...and it turns out my friend's wife got sick Thanksgiving night and was running a 103 degree fever(she's okay though).
I went to sleep Thursday night/Friday morning about 4a.m., after looking at different sales online, but purchasing nothing.

I woke up at 8:30a.m., to my cell phone buzzing. I saw it was my wife and answered it.
This was our conversation:
She said, "I'm standing in line at Best Buy."
I replied, "There's still a line to get inside the store!!??"
She said, "No, I'm standing in the computer line to get your computer."
I said, "Oh. They probably are sold out by now." I felt bad for her waiting in line, especially for something that was sold out...
Then she said, "No, the lady already said they have five left in stock, I just have to wait until 9a.m. to buy it."
I couldn't believe it. She showed up 3.5 hours after they had opened, and they had already passed out tickets for all the items, but they still had five of the computers in stock. Sure enough, 9a.m. rolled around, and nobody showed up with any of the tickets Best Buy had passed out for the computer, so she was able to buy it and bring it home! I typed all of this on the computer, and it's working great!

I'm still really, really, surprised they had any left at that time.

I already bought everything I want after my birthday on November 8th, so there was no need for me to take advantage of the Black Friday deals. I did contemplate picking up Left 4 Dead 2 (Left 5 Dead?) on Amazon, but I couldn't justify a purchase. Now, there's a large gap from November until January where there are basically no games coming out that I want. You can be sure I'm saving my cash for Mass Effect 2, though.
