New Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks Trailer

Submitted by Adam Englebright on November 6, 2009 – 2:21 pmComments

spirittracks1106 Gametrailers has got a WORLD EXCLUSIVE!!! trailer for the upcoming Legend of Zelda game, the DS title Spirit Tracks. Amongst other things, the trailer reveals that (spoilers) Zelda will be with you throughout the game, albeit in spirit form. The trailer shows her posessing one of those annoying suit-of-armour demons (from the previous DS title, Phantom Hourglass) and you controlling it with the stylus, using its invinciblity to aid you crossing lava and blocking fire. It looks like quite an interesting addition – perhaps like those statues you could control in Twilight Princess. I’ll stop describing it and let you watch the trailer, just hit the jump.

  • Gah! I did not dig Phantom Hourglass, so I was all set to pass on this one. But Ghost Zelda is super-cute!

I thought Phantom Hourglass was a good game, but it was utterly ruined by that Ocean King's Palace crap. I couldn't wait to get through that part and back to the rest of the game, which I felt was excellent.
  • Nice. This is perfect on the new Nintendo DSi LL's 4.25-inch screen! Its battery has been improved which will allow you to play an extra half hour compared to the previous DSi.

I'm not sold on the LL/XL. I'm concerned the larger screens will make the image look even rougher than it tends to be in some games. Of course, this is from a guy that plays NES games on a 42" plasma set and thinks they look good.

And a release date of December 7th. That's surprising. They drop a trailer announcing the game's coming out in a month? Interesting new tactic by Nintendo.
