New AVATAR dev diary, “Blockbuster Action”

Submitted by Adam Englebright on November 27, 2009 – 2:48 pmComments

There’s a new dev diary out for James Cameron’s AVATAR: The Game (catchy title), which focusses on the “Blockbuster Action” (see what I did there) in the game. It talks about the differences in playing styles between the Na’vi and the evil human Weyland-Yutani RDA Corporation, with the RDA having some rather cool robot exoskeletons, and lots of other awesome kit (the flamethowers look quite good) whereas the Na’vi rely on weapons made of bone, rock, volcanic glass… oh, and you can ride creatures, one of which is described as being “like a huge tiger”. It’s rather cool, check it out.

  • At the end, Cameron says "Could we do something really unique, take it to a new level."

    No.
  • I think James Cameron is still talking at E3. If you hurry, you might catch something completely uninteresting. Sad that the whole time, I kept asking myself, "He directed Terminator and Terminator 2. Really?"
