Aeropodcast #102: We’re Late and British This Time

Submitted by Joe Haygood on October 7, 2009 – 1:02 pmComments

A big apology for this podcast getting to press so late.  Real life has been getting in the way of things for the last week and a half, but things are getting better.  And believe me, beyond a technical issue for this podcast, it is well worth the wait.  Why is that you say?  Well, we had our writer from the UK, Vikki, making an appearance on the show.  So for once, we have a really good English accent on the show, although a really bad accent shows up as well at one point.

Features in this podcast include shopping for good, not so cutesy DS and DSi games, and the Xbox 360 and PC Ones to Watch titles, so it was not a fanboy oversight that they were not on the site.

Music is provided by Revolution Void, and mixed as always by Stephen Munn.

This is definitely one of the greatest episodes of the aeropodcast. I'd also recommend "The World Ends With You". I didn't finish it, but I had a great time with what I played of it.
  • Keep the recommendations coming, guys. And the compliments! :)
  • Podcast Correction #1: The UK GH5 bundle came with a free copy of World Tour, not Greatest Hits. My apologies, internet.

So what about The World Ends With You, Blue Dragon DS, (if you've NEVER played it yet) Chrono Trigger?
  • Yes, big fat no, sure.

For the record, I sent Vikki my recommendations of all three Castlevania games for DS (especially Order of Ecclesia), seconded Fourhman's assertion that the Ouendan and Elite Beat Agents games are the best on the platform, and suggested Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword as well as Mario Kart DS.
  • And for the record, I have accepted those recommendations. :) Maybe my DSi will be properly used in the future!

'Ello chaps. I can't bloody wait until iTunes downloads this jolly-good episode of the Aeropodcast. Tally-ho!

    You'll love Vikki's, "Cor! It's a GOOD GAME!" I sure did.

Indeed I did. Being in a Theatre class, and having to take on a number of different characters, I feel that I'll be able to better perform my British (not English) accent.
  • I appreciate how you are distinguishing British and English. Kudos to you, Mr. Snyder! :)

If I'm ever again invited back, I intend to use the next podcast to showcase how I say 'tap' instead of 'faucet' and 'pavement' instead of 'sidewalk'. Fun, fun times ahead ...

I think I'll have to add "rubbish" to my British accent repertoire.
  • Yeah ... I did say that a lot. :P Along with 'um', I think it was my most overused word ...

will you say "cheeky" next podcast?
  • I will if you want me to. :) lol
