I applied for the beta a while back, while they were at E3. I just feel that the audience that would be interested in this will not want to lose the benefit of tweaking the games, or patching in mod support, etc.

I could not imagine playing something like Oblivion, Left 4 Dead or Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, and not having the community patches and mods that followed the release of the game.
