From Rock Band to Real Guitar – Sheet Music Plus Hopes So

Submitted by Joe Haygood on September 15, 2009 – 1:32 amView Comments

guitar_hero_350pxWho hasn’t picked up their plastic guitar for Rock Band and thought, “I should be totally doing this gig for real.”  Some have decided to make the move from that little plastic toy to the real deal, while some have decided they have no patience to learn an instrument.  Sheet Music Plus is hoping that they can take what has made the Guitar Hero and Rock Band franchises so popular – the music selection – and use it to get kids into learning how to play a real six string.

Apparently, the online site, has added a ton of new music that includes selections from Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Rock Band, Guitar Hero 2, Guitar Hero and Rock Band 2.

“Today’s kids often get more exposure to music from video games and movies than from any other source, and it would be great if this gaming trend can be a gateway back to learning to play live music,” said Keith Cerny, CEO of Sheet Music Plus. “By offering up sheet music for the songs they are exposed to via these blockbuster gaming titles, there is an incentive for them to try their hand at actually performing these extremely popular tunes.”

If you are intersted in checking out Sheet Music Plus, follow the link, and make sure to think of us, preferably with lots of money, when you become a famous guitarist.
