Crime Scene DS

Ever figured that, given the right tools and resources, you could be the next Columbo? Well, here’s your chance to prove it.

SouthPeak have announced Crime Scene, the game that claims to, ahem, “turn your Nintendo DS into a weapon of justice”. Quite a lofty claim, I’m sure you’ll agree. That said, the premise – delivered via the tap ‘n’ drag method that makes the DS so popular and user-friendly – is nevertheless intriguing:

Players are tasked with combing through crime scenes and untangling suspense-filled scenarios by using the stylus, breath and voice features, and their own eye for detail to condemn wrongdoers. Every police tool will be at the players’ disposal as they study bodies, take blood samples, collect fingerprints, use voice recognition software, identify murder weapons, conduct DNA analyses and more.

So while I’m not too hot when it comes to whodunnits, I’m happy to see it’s scheduled for a Q4 2009 release. This means we’ll be able to fantasise that all those dead bodies are our annoying family members this holiday season. Yay!
