And you thought Eye of Judgment was a flop

EOJsleeve-smallSpotted at my local comic shop: card sleeves that namecheck Sony’s PS3-based trading card game, Eye of Judgment!

These are special non-glare sleeves. Which, honestly, if you’re playing at some con tourney in a giant hall with sterile fluorescent lighting, you do sometimes run into glare issues on your cards. Yeah, I sleeve my gaming cards. What are you and your bent-up, finger-greased, nacho-stained Mox deck going to do about it?

Gaming accessory company Ultra-Pro isn’t afraid to point out that a non-glare sleeve is a perfect choice for the often fiddly PSEye camera scanning. It’s right there at the bottom of the package! I checked the back of the package and the copyright dates all say 2008, so this is old stock… but even in 2008 Eye of Judgment was pretty well buried.

So I think it’s cool that Ultra-Pro put a little EoJ bait out there. Of course, that doesn’t mean they’ll correctly spell it.

Full bigness after the jump.

I wonder what other “non-glare games” are out there?

I ALWAYS used covers for my cards. After seeing wear and tear, and having to trade/buy some beaten up cards, it's been a must have. Also, it allowed for playing some of the older cards in tourney's where people would complain about “marking” cards because of the nature of them.
