Adrenaline Golf Online

Indy developer Eurocenter, which has developed several online games for the iPhone and iPod touch has released Adrenaline Golf Online, with full support for the advanced iPhone 3GS graphic extensions like the OpenGL shader effects. Eurocenter is the first to utilize the new technology on the 3Gs (finally!) and has done so with a game that mixes mini golf with pool. This is not to say they didn’t have issues working with OpenGL – they had to completely rewrite the engine from the ground up to work on the 3GS, and have two different 3D engines to work on the older models.

The best feature in this new title is the online multiplayer feature where you can collect stars and send bonuses to other players much like in Mario Kart. Additionally players can compete in 72 completely different courses.

The water, shadows and other shader effects look pretty cool from the video but I can’t wait to see other developers do something a bit more compelling than Golf, not to be dissin’ Golf or Eurocenter’s effort put forth in Adrenaline.

    Yeah, I was thinking the same thing: The first GROUNDBREAKING game for the iPhone 3GS is a Golf game? Really? No one else has stepped up to the plate? Sheesh…. Must not be much of a market for it (read: it's not).

    Dark Raider S and Blue Skies S were released a month before this. They were the first 2 games to use 3GS shaders. (and they are for hardcore gamers not casual gamers)

    Maybe they call it the “first” since it was the first written from the ground up and not just an adapted to use the 3GS, hence the moniker “S” at the end of the titles?

    It's all fair in love, war, and PR :P . And usually we all hate them even more those types of shenanigans.
