XBox Live Update Day

It’s 11 August, baby. That means it’s XBox 360 System Update day!

On demand gaming aside, there’s a host of other new features, including the Avatar Marketplace and better Netflix capabilities. Just don’t panic if you’ve yet to see the update prompt quite yet; it’s going to take a few hours for it to hit all territories and regions.

Facebook, Twitter and Last FM integration will hit your dashboard later this year.

So … what do you think? Worth the hype? I’ve never really given a rat’s ass about my avatar or what she’s wearing, so do let me know if the avatar marketplace is as super-awesomely-groovy as some people would have me think …

    I understand why they won't cut the price, but that doesn't mean it makes sense. If I am cutting out things like packaging, shelf space, etc. you would think I would get a break. Now I do have to factor in server costs for the company, but I wonder how that balances out.

    Yes, but GameStop has the power to pull their systems/games from shelves, which would lead to huge problems for MS.

    Screw GameStop, I'd be happier if no developers sent copies to them. If they are going to stab the industry in the back by selling used games and ripping off customers, Microsoft should be able to release a DIGITAL game for less money.
