Ratchet Is StarLombax
I’m a long time fan of the Ratchet & Clank series and last week’s PS Blog article about the upcoming Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time featured something I never thought needed expanding in the previous games. In past games travel between worlds was handled by a snappy little cut scene and occasionally there were spaceship-driven shooting levels, sometimes on rails, sometimes not. They were minor diversions at best, but in the next game they’ll be making travel between worlds be part of the game. It is, of course, coated in a healthy coat of marketing, so I’m not getting too excited but the footage in the trailer immediately jumped out at me as being heavily reminiscent of StarFox. Ratchet’s technically a Lombax — as the robotic voice notes in the trailer — so I think calling these parts of the game StarLombax isn’t all that unfair.
I’m a huge fan of space games, so this new feature is right up my alley. What do you think?

What's great for Insomniac is that Ratchet & Clank has virtually zero competition in the cartoony platformer genre anymore. Until the next Jak game (c'mon Naughty Dog, why can't you do the one game a year deal, à la Insomniac with Resistance and Ratchet) or Super Mario Galaxy 2 come out , there won't be anything to compare it to.
