Warm-voiced podcaster and Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry Hyrb aka Major Nelson recently announced on his blog that Xbox Live subscribers in the USA would be able to purchase Microsoft points using Paypal, but only from the Xbox.com page. This should hopefully provide people worried about disclosing their credit card details over the internet the opportunity to disclose their credit card details to a different online organisation. However, enough members must be asking for it otherwise they wouldn’t have done it. To clarify, in case you didn’t get the message from the two times I mentioned it earlier, it’s available in the USA. Nowhere else. Why this would be is a mystery, and considering I live in Europe, a damn annoying one. Never mind, now you can go and buy all those clothes for your Avatar you’ve been wanting to!

I suppose it's good for those kids who don't own credit cards or can't get one, too. :)

Seeing as how the normal payment method for PayPal usually is a credit card, that kinda blows that outta the water. And the other method of having a bank account attached to PayPal has some of the same strings attached. My bet is that most people will stick with points cards sold at the checkout lane at the grocery store, and secretly stashed in their parents shopping carts.
