Little King’s Story wants to know if you believe in God

Not long into the game, I ventured out of my castle to see how many farmers I could throw at cracks (it makes sense if you’ve played it), when Little King’s Story popped up the message you see above.

Seeing as LKS takes place in a cute little Middle Ages England, name-dropping “God” certainly makes thematic sense, but this is the first time I can recall a game flat-out asking a question that I’m more used to hearing unwelcome at my doorstep on a Saturday afternoon.

I’ve noticed a lot of games sidestep the issue by referring to “the almighty” or other generic terms – and there certainly are games with a definite religious bent (Left Behind) – but can you recall any other game willing to lay down a phat Judeo-Christian beat? I don’t think even Afterlife was so un-subtle about it. For my part, I’m going to see how far the game will let me get by ignoring the question and refusing to build the church.

Video of the monk’s conversation is after the jump. Ramen.

Godless Gamers Keeping Games Godless (GGKGG) supports your experiment to avoid church-building.

The organization is behind you 100%, Yu Yevon be praised.

Lol, GoNintendo calls this a “deep question.”

How can you be any more wrong with a premise as shallow as that?

The company didn't do an art game this time around (try them as “Love-De-Lic” for that), but you're definitely going to surprised, it seems.

Wether you build it or not, the priest won't be any nicer to you.

In the name of the father, and the son, and the holy soup. Ramen.

I have read that having the church will allow the townspeople to get married and go to funerals. So I'll probably end up building it just so I can attend services for all the soldiers I keep killing.
