Guitar Hero 5

Hey Wii owners! Remember all those Mii’s of family and friends you made when you first got the console and haven’t used since? Well how about this! Activision have decided to make your day! As they did for Xbox Live Avatars, they’ve decided to do for you! Guitar Hero 5 will support the use of Miis in something called ‘Mii Freestyle Mode’, but, according to an Activision spokesperson, there are no plans for support of PS3 Home avatars.

Thanks to Eurogamer.

Your first sentence is a total dick move.

OK, the first sentence was admittedly a bit too sarky.

  • Jordan_Snyder

    Snarky, but true. ;)

Didn't World Tour have this as well and no one cared?

There are dozens of titles (plenty of WiiWare) that use the Miis, so I'm not sure where the meme came from that Nintendo has abandoned the Miis. The gaming community seems to oscillate between “Miis aren't being used!!11!” and “Miis totally suck!!11!” every other month.

I just find the Miis pointless. And Xbox Avatars. And Home Avatars.

It makes me more interested in GH5 than less, but not enough to make it more than a rental after careful consideration.

    IT'S A TRAP

I like seeing Mii's pop up in games. They're fun. I'd rather be wandering around game worlds with little versions of my friends than random other filler characters.

When I play Bowling on Wii Sports/Wii Sports Resort, my dog is often in the crowd.

My DOG. That's great. His Mii is creepy, and I'm still into that.

The more Mii's involved, the better.

I was looking at in more through the prism of the sort of Wii owners who buy it, play Wii sports for a few days, leave it, get, say, Wii Fit, play that for a while , leave it, get Guitar Hero… I was just being sarcastic. I'm aware that Mii's are supported elsewhere (the Bomberman game, for instance), and that this is something serious Wii fans will be more interested in.
