xbox-live-logo-green-orangeSince news broke that Microsoft were adding a Games on Demand marketplace on 11 August, we’ve been salivating to find out what, exactly, will be available for download. Today Microsoft have finally released the list of titles that will shortly be available in the US and UK.

Both Gold and Silver Live subscribers will be able to directly purchase the titles for download via the Games on Demand marketplace, formerly known as the XBox Originals store. When pressed by GameSpot for pricing details, a MS rep said: “We aren’t detailing pricing by title quite yet, but Games on Demand titles will cost roughly the same as you would expect to pay for these titles in a retail store, from $19.99 to $29.99 (USD). You’ll be able to pay with both credit card and Microsoft points, which will now also be available for purchase via PayPal on Xbox.com Web marketplace.”

And to answer my own question: no, probably not, actually.

i might be tempted to move my Mass Effect game to a digital version, but to be honest, there is nothing here that I have to own. Start releasing some newer titles, and maybe I can start to get excited. I am surprised there is no Hitman Blood Money or Gun, two early games that might benefit from a reduced price and digital distribution.
