I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.

First of the Avatar Clothing Rewards Comes….via Code?

3875467342_ba3e9da39aToday, MajorNelson posted a new image via his Flickr account that shows off the avatar reward you can get via The Beatles: Rock Band.  However, the one issue is that it is not really an earned reward, but an actual card you will get with a new order of the game.

So if you want to get this nifty Beatles shirt for your avatar, it looks like you will have to pony up for the full game at the time of purchase.  I wonder if this will be the direction they will go with future avatar rewards, or if we will actually see things like shirts, hats and other items will be earned through gameplay.

Is anyone else happy with this direction, or would you rather be able to earn avatar clothes via playing the game?

I honestly think that having Rewards that come along with buying the game are a good idea. That way, you get an incentive to buy new and support the developer.

Gameplay rewards should definitely be a primary earning method though. All in all, the more you get for the original purchase price, the better. Some of the prices on the Avatar Marketplace are ridiculous.

Yeah, $5 for a lightsaber prop that is never seen unless I go to the Friends list via the dashboard is a bit much.

Since I am picking this up the day of launch, I will get the shirt, and I don't have a problem with this, but I do want to be able to earn clothing. I mean, it would a great badge if you got something for a hard achievement. Like a special uniform for those that get the last mission in Call of Duty on veteran. That would be awesome.
