ESRB Lets Manhunt 2 PC Out of the Bag

When reporting on news, the ESRB can be a game site’s best friend. The ESRB has been single handedly responsible for so many premature launch announcements. That trend has continued today with the ESRB putting up a listing for Manhunt 2 on the PC.
Now a Manhunt 2 listing is not all that surprising, as Rockstar has always ended up bringing titles to the PC after a lag period for the consoles. From Grand Theft Auto to Bully, there has always been a PC verion of most of their titles. The bigger surprise in the listing for Manhunt 2 is the AO rating that has been attached to the title.

For those that remember back to the Manhunt 2 launch oh so many years ago, the game was originally rated AO for the console versions of the title. The BBFC put an outright ban on the game from being sold in the UK. The questionable material was killed off, and the game was finally released with an M rating, the debate raged on after the release.
While console have yet to see an AO rated game come out, PC gamers have seen several non-porn titles come out that have beared the AO label, the most prominent being Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, after the sex minigame scandal. Other titles rated AO include Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude Uncut and Uncensored and 7 Deadly Sins to name a few.

Wow it's been something like 6 or 7 years since the 1st Manhunt?
I picked up the first Manhunt in the PC bargain bin shortly after its release and found it to be a very solid stealth action game. It was also funny to hear the subtle tie-ins to th Manhunt back in Grand Theft Auto III. One of the radio stations talked about corruption in Carcer City and how the chief had gone missing. Great stuff.
