Space Bust-A-Move ships, with any luck it won’t be a turd

Space Bust-A-Move for Nintendo DSBust-A-Move is a brand in peril, a solid gameplay concept with powerful roots which has since struggled to live up to its former glory. I’ve wasted my time with Bust-A-Move 99 on N64, for example. Why did I do that?

Much like the Sonic Cycle, Bust-A-Move carries weight from its origins, so we approach the new one, Space Bust-A-Move, with optimism. So far, it looks good. We’ve got the elements we’ve wanted for a while now, like online and local single-card multiplayer. We’ve also got Square-Enix at the wheel, which has helped Taito’s brands like Space Invaders in the recent past. Of course, this didn’t seem to help much with the WiiWare game, which had no online play. Feh.

It shipped today, which means you’ll see it in stores tomorrow. Hey, and it’s only $20. Beat that.

I misread the headline at first. I thought that Bust a Groove was coming to the DS. I was about to run out and take my son's DSi away so I could get my groove back on. But alas I was mistaken, and now I am a sad panda.
