Review: Dragon Ball Z – Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3)

October 28, 2011 – 12:44 pm |

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

Ones to Watch: Xbox 360 Titles for July 2009

Submitted by on July 7, 2009 – 11:52 am6 Comments

xbox2036020logoThis month we have a short list of titles that look good enough to list as Ones to Watch on the Xbox 360.  A lot of this comes from the fact that we are in the slowest season of the game release calendar.  However, it makes these articles easier to get out to you, because there is a shortage of good titles for any of the platforms.

Also, make sure to check out the other Ones to Watch articles for the Nintendo platforms, Sony platforms and the PC.

thebigs2boxshotThe Bigs 2 – While 2K Sports has found a lot of success with its MLB series, The Bigs stepped up to the plate last year, and belted out a home run in terms of sales.  Now The Bigs 2 is ready for release, and adds the ability to play through a new 162 game schedule, as well as a lot of new control and fielding tweaks to make last year’s experience even better.  2K Sports has also added in a host of new graphical updates, and new acrobatic moves to round out the features list for The Bigs 2.  Look for The Bigs 2 on July 7th, 2009.

ncaafootball10boxshotNCAA Football 10 – EA Sports has the arduous task to trying to convince users why they should upgrade every year to their newest sports franchises, but this year, there are enough changes to make me want to check out NCAA Football 10.  A new player lock system, that allows players to lock on to any player on the field and get a camera view that allows you to actually play from that spot on the field is a godsend.  Add in an updated running game, sharper graphics, chaining of plays, and a new gameplan manager, and NCAA Football 10 looks to be a contender once again.  Look for NCAA Football 10 on July 14th, 2009.

g-forceboxshotG-Force – Okay, I am probably going to take a beating over this choice, but after playing G-Force at E3, I have to admit that I had a lot of fun with the game.  Yes it is a movie tie-in, but it does not follow the movie step by step.  There is a lot of material that fills in details from the movie, and new weapons and vehicles that are only found in the game.  With all of that, I have an even bigger reason to check this title out on 360, and that is because of the option to play in true 3D.  Yes, G-Force ships with 3D glasses, and the ability to play the game in 3D from start to finish.  It is optional, but I would definitely recommend giving the mode a shot.  Check out G-Force on July 21st, 2009.

And that is all we have for this month.  There are a couple other titles that are hitting, like the Black College Football Experience, and the Bioshock/Oblivion bundle, but the above three titles are the cream of the crop on the Xbox 360 this month.  Check back in August for more Xbox 360 selections.

Oh crap. These articles are supposed to be about GOOD games?

If they are supposed to be about good games, then why is there one for Nintendo? OH SNAP!

If that was the case, I probably would not have included Damnation in May. But I did put it at the top of my Gamefly queue, because I have to see this trainwreck first hand.
