Impulse Buy: Majesty Gold

Submitted by Paul Munn on July 4, 2009 – 8:48 amComments

pc_majesty_gold_editionStardock’s digital download service has discounted the stellar if a bit old Windows game Majesty Gold, which includes the original Majesty game and its The Northern Expansion, um, expansion to just five bucks over the holiday weekend. This is a great deal. I own the disc based version of this game which normally retails for at least twice that, and this takes away all of the muss and fuss of physical media.

It’s a great, laid-back and fun way to enjoy a fantasy RPG by building out your little town and then setting bounties on creatures and explore bounties on unrevealed parts of the map and helping your recruited heroes slay their way to victory. The sequel is due out sometime late this year but this one is basically guaranteed to run on just about anything right now.

That’s not the only thing on sale, either. Also of note is a Red Faction: Guerrila pre-order for $39.99 that nets you both Red Faction and Red Faction 2 for free. Strategy game fans can pick up Sins of a Solar Empire and its Entrenchment expansion for $29.99. Hit this link for the full list of what’s on sale now.
