Hulu is absolutely explicitly blocking the PS3 browser. There are utilities that allow you to change what your browser tells the web server it is, e.g. you can make Firefox tell the server that it's Internet Explorer, or a mobile browser, etc, to aid in testing. If you take the PS3 browser's name and version and feed it to Hulu from a desktop browser this way it blocks you.

I think it boils down to these sites testing and then realizing that these browsers don't show all the ads they want you to have around the video window while you watch.

There are workarounds, such as connecting through a proxy service on another computer that as I described above tells the website you're browsing that you're really Firefox or Internet Explorer, but it's not simple to do and is basically impossible for ordinary users to use. Now setting one up for public use would be nice, wouldn't it? Hmmm.

Unfortunately I came across, other articles like the on below stating that Hulu was specifically blocking the PS3's and Windows Mobile's Web Browsers. I agree that it doesn't make sense but, until Hulu makes a statement it's all speculative. I suspect that they are working on a solution on their end but...

Hulu to PlayStation 3 browsers: "This video is not available on your platform" http://www.engadgethd.com/2009/06/27/ps3-owners...

"...Interestingly, the Hulu TOS was just updated as of June 26, and although we haven't found any PS3-specific passages, changing a browser's user-string to match the console reveals it is definitely being specifically blocked."

It definitely sounds sketchy, but what would be the motive for blocking out viewing from a video game console? It must have to do with an update, either with the PS3s or the video sites.
