Shatter To Merge Shmups And Brick-Breaking

    By Paul Munn | June 9, 2009

One of the most interesting things about the PS Nation Podcast Episode 116: “Where Do WE3 Begin?” was that both Mark and Glen gave quite a bit of time to talk about titles they had seen for other platforms. They did, however, settle down and talk about Sony’s platforms’ offerings at some length and one game that they said impressed them was Shatter. The merging of a brick-breaking game (think Arkanoid) and a Shmup with a great soundtrack and excellent score-chase integration really caught their eye. This video was taken by Martin, the sometimes third member of their podcast from Japan, and you can hear the three of them responding to the cool gameplay.

It certainly doesn’t look like anything else on the PSN, and it’s supposedly in QA for an “early summer” release right now.
