Ok, I may be going out on a limb here, but I think the DS version looks like ASS. It seems like they're trying to put too much 3D modeling into what that little handheld can do.

And the Wii version, while looking particularly excellent for a Wii game has some shortcomings as well. First, I know we have a limited platform for the Wii, but some of the inner-city driving looks too bland. It's the same texture, over and over. Secondly, I too am a sucker for cell-shaded graphics, but I wish they would have put more emphasis on it for the cars and used some of memory real-estate for more varied backdrops. When I go driving in my games, I don't want to see the same tree over and over. Hell, the decrepit NFS:High Stakes, and even Hot Pursuit had better visuals than the Wii version and that's a PS1-era game.

I know it's too late for EA to change that visual style now, but I wish they would have done some amount of initial focus group research to see what others felt. And maybe they did and the focus group liked this new appearance. But I for one would much prefer something that didn't try to aim high and throw low.
