Konami confirms Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is in Kojima’s hands, 2010 release
Konami’s press event for E3 2009 was today, and IGN live blogged the event. It was here that they confirmed that Lords of Shadow is the name of the new Castlevania game, and that Metal Gear‘s Hideo Kojima will be handling the project for a 2010 release. It stars Gabriel, and features a mask that brings the dead back to life, which will feature heavily in the game. This is to be a Castlevania “reimagining,” which means it won’t be connected to any of the other games. It is being developed by Mercurysteam under Kojima’s direction, which tells us that it is the game that was shown last year, but rebranded and retooled.
Did Konami decided Igarashi’s direction, which we saw in a brief video last year featuring Alucard, was not good enough?
