Ghostbusters PS3 Video bug
The PS3 version of Ghostbusters, which was supposed to be the flagship version, has already been called out with inferior graphics compared to the Xbox 360. Well, as I recently noted during the latest podcast, I’ve run into a further video problem where the game ceases to update on-screen video. The first occurrence of this, which was captured on crappy cell-phone video, is during the Library level while chasing the grey lady into the basement. The first time this occured, I was able to completely lock up the PS3 from any form of input. The second time I just struggled through it to continue playing. Well, not but one or two levels later a similar problem occurred while actively busting ghosts. There must have been too much action on the screen and frames were dropping faster than class 1 apparitions.
How do glaring bugs like this make it the final retail release? My guess: the pre-release test for the PS3 was stamped as the gold version. This is definitely not a good first food forward for the Terminal Reality’s Infernal Engine.

I had a great graphics bug during the drive-through-Times-Square level. There's a bit where you're supposed to blow up a gas tank so Ecto-1 can get down an alley. Only I had no gas tank. The only clues I had that a gas tank existed was A ) the other characters were talking about it… and B ) there was a stream of liquid flowing in mid-air, like a shaft of golden pee.
So yeah, WTF.
I am experiencing the same problem in the library. Also, I've noticed that in the PS3 version, my careers are dropped when I think they are saved and I have to start all over instead of being able to pick up where I left off… Anyone else experiencing this?
Oof this doesn't sound good. Time to reduce the price I'd pay for this on sale.
I also got the library problem. Forums EVERYWHERE are complaining about the library problem. So how again does something like this not make the pro reviews (did everybody get a 360 version for review), and what are the chances of somebody somewhere paying attention and issuing a patch?
