Cursed Mountain trailer plays up the atmosphere
I just ran across this newish trailer for Cursed Mountain, a survival horror game coming exclusively to Wii later this year. It’s about two weeks old, so sorry if you’ve already seen it. I’m betting you haven’t.
As I learned from reading Nintendo Power, Cursed Mountain’s hook is kind of a Legend of Zelda dark world/light world thing. You’ll be presented with a task, but be unable to complete it alive without hopping back and forth between a real world and the spirit realm. The game recently launched a spiffy website that’s good for some aimless afternoon browsing… plus it features the World’s Scariest Box Art (not final) which I have hidden after the jump.

Survival horror game Cursed Mountain will be released exclusively on WiiTM
On the official Cursed Mountain website, Deep Silver opens the gate to the next stop during the ascent of Mt. Chomolonzo in the Himalayas. What traces did Eric Simmons leave in the village at the foot of the mountain during the search for his brother? Are there any clues in the monastery? Postcards from his grueling trip, diary entries and video material speak of the dangers Eric encounters while climbing Mt. Chomolonzo. The documents surrounding his journey can be viewed at http://cursedmountain.deepsilver.com.
About Cursed Mountain:
Set in the late 1980s, gamers will take on the role of a fearless mountaineer as he climbs into the Himalayas on a quest to find his lost brother. As he ascends the mountain, he encounters an ancient curse: the souls of the people who died in that region are stuck in limbo, caught in the Shadow World. Villagers, pilgrims, mountaineers and Buddhist monks – dead but not yet reincarnated – are all that is left on the mountain.Terrible visions will disorient him, and ghosts and demons block his path. But the question remains – is his brother still alive?
Cursed Mountain is set to be released in 2009.
