I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.

Big Mike, You Will Be Missed

Submitted by on June 26, 2009 – 8:38 am7 Comments

No, you have not come to TMZ.com, but I am writing a few words about the passing of a legend, Michael Jackson.  While we all know that he was a bit crazy towards the end of his years, the music that he made will always be great.  Who didn’t try to learn the dance sequence at the end of the Thriller video, or try to perfect their Moonwalk after seeing Michael perform at the Motown 25th Anniversary Awards.  Mike,  you will be missed.

And just to bring a little gaming focus, I was surprised to find out how much Michael Jackson had done in the gaming world.  I mean, I knew of his Moonwalker game on the Genesis console (still wish I had the cartridge), but it seems that he showed up in several other games, or at least inspired designers to pay homage to him in one way or another.  The Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within video above tickled my funny bone, until I realized how much Square Enix probably spent making that segment.  Check out the great article over at 1up.com to see all the other places Michael Jackson has shown up in the gaming world.  It was an eye-opener to me.

So it is written, so it shall be. I promise to unbox my original Genesis, and fire up Michael Jackson's Moonwalker.

I thought this article was about Koss until I realized, “Oh yeah, Michael Jackson died.” Too much plastic surgery, but multiple influential songs. I never was a big fan of his more pop style music, but I liked young Michael.

I never was a fan of him either, but this article made me want to watch the thriller video and actually listen to his music.
