    Aeropodcast #87: Good Vibrations

    By Joe Haygood | June 23, 2009

Well, when you have to include mention of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, you might be scraping at the bottom of the podcast barrel, but no, the Aeropodcast crew still stands tall in the face of Mark Wahlberg’s attempts at taking us down a peg.

This week, Fourhman, Koss and Joe take a look at social networking sites and why it has taken them so long to migrate into the gaming marketplace.  We also look at gaming specific sites like Raptr and GamerDNA that offer content that is specific to gamers.  The discussion also becomes a mini gripefest with the lack of things like updating signature cards, and Raptr integration when it comes to PS3 owners.

We skipped out on questions this week, because we were running a bit long, but in a preview of next week, we have a voicemail, so make sure to tune in for that.  As for the news, we did look at Activision giving Sony the thumbs down, Olivia Munn posing non-nude in Playboy and even Mortal Kombat making a return as an M-rated title.

As always, the podcast is mixed by our very own DJ Hero, Stephen Munn and we are always backed up by the sounds of Revolution Void.

I wonder who left the voice mail... OH WAIT!

Since my PSP battery went kaput, I have to use iTunes to download my podcasts. It's actually quite nice, but I have to wait for my mother's work laptop to get home before I can sync my iPod. Can't wait to listen, guys.
    • I just hope the voice mail wasn't all sweaty and awkward. Or that it didn't get bumped to the next episode because Stephen has to do so much work to remove the distracting voice cracking.

      I kid, I kid.

      Voice mails can't sweat.

I'm going to finish this comment after I'm done crying........................................................................................................ *Ahem* I am past the stage of voice cracking thankyouverymuch. I can't promise on it not being sweaty and awkward, though...
    • Hey guys... stumbled across this... I am the creator of 360voice.com (My Xbox can blog!) and run product development at gamerDNA.com. Your comments on social media was fun to listen to... fully agree with you on Sony... we would love to get auto feeds from them. They are lagging behind... and it is the number 1 request we get from our members.

Some day guys. Some day! :)

One of your comments (about 1:02 in) was about Twitter spam... at gamerDNA we actually solve that problem by doing summary updates... once a day... to let you know what your friends have played (more for conversation, than for synchronous match making). So we are very aware of the spam issue... and working to solve that so that the information presented focuses less on presence and more on initiating a conversation about gaming.

Cheers guys... thanks for the podcast. If you ever have any questions about gamerDNA, feel free to ask!
