Terminator: Salvation in-game footage

If this video is any indication, Terminator: Salvation is shaping up to be quite the action fest this summer, even if the movie flops. Which it can’t possibly do since it features Christian Bale as the leading man. And we all know how you ladies out there swoon over Mr. Bale.

As I noted last time, it still seems like it’s kinda dark in some areas. But we are graced with a longer variation on the ubiquitous Terminator theme, and it’s nothing less than aural ecstasy that transforms into adrenaline which can only be released on incoming T-100′s. Some have complained about a lot of ‘ratatata’ sound. But you know what? I prefer my bullet based weaponry to sound realistic. Yes, some PEW PEW action would be good too, but at least we’ve seen RPGs in action to round out the mix. Oh, and did you catch that tasty glimpse of split-screen action? Want more? Check out the other in-game videos, or just wait 1 week for the official release.

What, no mention of the PC version. Thanks for making me a sad panda. Still on the fence with this one however. I am always skeptical of movie tie-in games.

Also, do I get to use a Phase Plasma Rifle with a 40 watt range in the game? That will be crucial in my decision to go buy the game. I don't want to have to settle on the Uzi 9mm.

I'm skeptical of movie tie-ins as well, but since its not revolving around the movie, and has something decent to base it on: have humans kill robots, its kinda hard to screw it up. Now will it be a summer blockbuster for gaming? That's still left to be seen.

Oh, and did you play Gear of War on PC or 360? Because that's what this game is very similar to. I prefer my gamepad to the mouse keyboard for those types of games since its usually easier to control the advanced moves with the extra buttons.

I played Gears on both the PC and the 360. I would say it is more suited for the 360 and PS3, but hey, you gotta give the PC some love….we don't get much of it nowadays. And you still did not mention whether I get to use a Phase Plasma Rifle in a 40 Watt Range. This is a critical point.

Seriously, I think my animosity towards the game comes more from the fact that it is a movie that really did not need to be made. It was wanted by the fans, but I felt that T3 worked far better with closing the series out by tying up loose ends and giving a reason as to why Judgement Day had to happen, no matter what John Connor or anyone else did to try and prevent it.
