We originally reported on this back in 2007 that a 4th installment of Terminator series would be invading your favorite gaming platform. Now we have official word that after the previous robot insurgencies, you will have the chance to jump into John Connor’s boots and lead the rebellion against the mechanical menace. In a breakaway from trying to mirror a movie’s plot, the game’s setting takes place 2 years before the events in the upcoming film. Being developed by Halcyon Games, the action unfolds in a 3rd-person environment, ala Gears of War, or Uncharted for the PS3′ers out there, with a smattering of vehicle combat for good taste.

Now I know what you’re thinking: “Since it’s John Connor, Christian Bale will be lending his sexy voice for me to relish! Oh joys!” Sorry, but no. While Mr. Bale has declined to voice his character, Rose McGowan has signed up as a game exclusive character. So that seems like a fair trade, right? Maybe he declined for reasons like some actress did with another prominent movie license. Here’s hoping the game turns out excellent like some previous excursions with the Terminator franchise: SkyNET or Future Shock. Jump through for the trailer.

Watch Aeropause for further information in the upcoming weeks.
