Street Fighter IV gains Championship Mode

Capcom has sent word that the first update for Street Fighter IV will hit next Friday, April 24. This patch adds a Championship mode that allows players to compete in tournaments, as well as video replay of matches from the tournaments. By competing in said tournaments, players can win “Championship Points” which are supposed to be akin to ‘prize money’. No word, yet on whether these will be redeemable for anything tangible, or digital.
While this is a highly welcomed add-on, how about a patch to improve the multiplayer experience in terms of lag, dropped connections, and capabilities. SFIV is still lacking in its multiplayer areas when compared to Super Street Fighter II HD Remix. Hopefully this will lay some of the ground work to tighten it up.

Looks like lots of good competitive content going into the game.
If I played fighters, this would definitely make me more likely to buy this game.
This is definitely a good thing to keep the life-blood pumping in the game. Fighting games usually stagnate rather quickly from release.
This is going to be free or you need to pay?
100% free.
How is this iteration btw? I'm tempted to buy..or at least try.
I love it. I play it almost nightly online. The PS3 version has some issues with multiplayer games, and both are missing what I'd call some necessary features (multiplayer sessions with more than one person), but it's been pleasurable to say the least.
how in the world do you save a replay?
