New Damnation Video Shows off Movement and Combat Gameplay

Blue Omega and Codemasters show off the way that your character will move and fight through the world of Damnation.  As you can see from the video, you are a gymnast in your spare time, doing flips and other acrobatic feats in nature.  The gunplay was interesting, as it was to watch the way that the AI will use the world in the same way your character can.  Seeing an AI character pull back, zip line and work his way behind you to attack was very cool, and shows off the AI development that Blue Omega has put into Damnation.

That said, to hear a developer mention that you can move through the world unlike any other current shooter, falls flat, because the first thing that jumped into my mind is that we have Tomb Raider in a Steampunk game.  Climbing ladders, zip lines and flipping up ledges is stuff we have watched our favorite buxom brunette do for over a decade.  It is not new and intuitive, but a similar game in a new skin.  The addition of jumping through any window is a nice feature though, and could add some interesting twists to getting into new areas.
