Need A Batarang? Order the Batman: Arkham Asylum CE

Eidos showed off the contents of the Batman: Arkham Asylum Collector’s Edition, and in the pack are some highly desirable items.  First off we get some of the usual stuff, including a Behind-the-Scenes video, and collector’s edtion packaging and a code for some day one DLC.  Now the more unconventional stuff is the Arkham Doctor Journal, which gives some background info on some of the chawracters you will run into in the Asylum.  The prize of the package however, is the life sized replica of the game version of The Batarang.  What gamer does not want or need a Batarang.  I make fun of collector’s edition, but day one, I will have a Batarang on my shelf.

One thing that someone else may be able to point out, is that the info send over shows a collector’s edition for the 360 and the PC versions of Batman: Arkham’s Asylum, so does this mean there is no PS3 version of the Collector’s Edition?  An email has been sent to Eidos for clarification.

  • stay away from this product, you will be extremly disapointed in the batarang.
Cheap plastic and they went for a "used" look... its all scratched!!!!

    pooooooor, very poor.
  • Yeah, I was going to import the PC Collector's edition from Europe until I found out that it was a plastic batarang. I wouldn't mind having the free DLC, but I could not use the European code in the US store I think. So it is the standard edition, probably from Steam. It does have achievements, so that is something.
  • the game is really good tho, like really good! so just get the game.

I'm really hoping this game is good because I love a good stealth-action game. After watching the developer walkthrough video I became very intrigued. I love the thought of taking out an entire room of people without being noticed. You know what's weird, though? I actually had a dream a couple of nights ago that I was inside this game. No lie. I was shooting up to the little perches from the developer walkthrough and glide kicking some of the Joker's goons. Then my dream changed into something totally different. I'm weird (and by that I mean awesome) like that.
  • They must think the game is really good to make a special version for the game, or its so bad they need to make it look good. Lets hope its the first one!
  • Want to be good. Need to be good. Please be good. Please be so good.

I saw this game in action on a PS3 today during a lunch trip to BestBuy and I was very impressed. The environment and character models as well as the brawling action looked excellent! This was a live demo -- someone was playing it -- not a canned cut scene.

I haven't read up on this game at all since I'm not a comic book fan. The game mode being played looked like a survival-like mode where Batman was going up against waves of prisoner thugs.
