Review: Dragon Ball Z – Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3)

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.

Submitted by on April 17, 2009 – 10:04 am6 Comments

ps3_from_dealnewsSony has cheerfully announced that Killzone 2 has sold 1 million copies worldwide. That is something to crow about given the underdog install base. Sony also says it’s continuing to drive hardware sales.

Only, um, it’s not:

March NPD Numbers:
Wii – 601K
Xbox 360 -330K
PS3 – 218K
PS2 – 112K

Price cut, anyone?

But what were the numbers for the previous months for the PS3 since Killzone2 came out, I wonder….

  • mclazyj says:

The biggest issue here is that while Killzone 2 sold 600K copies over the two month period, but orignally there was word from Sony Europe that the game was going to hit one million pre-orders on that side of the ocean. Now if you take the US 600,000 copies, you end up with 400,000 for all of Europe. Not exactly a million copies in Europe.

Just wait until April's numbers come out and that PS2 price drop has time to take effect. It might be back ahead of the PS3.

Poor Sony… If only they would have gotten the pricing right in the first place. They actually have a great library of games now, but nothing is going for them.

  • Damn, I would have thought they would have sold a lot more then that. I actually saw ads for the game this time around. 1 mil is good in many ways, but for a game like that it should have been much more.
