Coming soon: Make your own WarioWare games

Submitted by Joe Fourhman on April 17, 2009 – 10:13 pmComments

GameSetWatch has a look at an exciting DSiWare game coming to Japan in only a few weeks, Made in Ore… which amounts to a WarioWare game where you can make your own levels! The promo video (straight from Japan’s version of the Wii’s Nintendo Channel) shows how you can draw your own sprites, compose your own music, and define your own gameplay (I’m guessing there are several pre-determined WarioWare game style templates). GameSetWatch reports that budding WarioWarists can share their levels online, and that Nintendo will regularly post their own new levels for users to download.

A WiiWare counterpart app will make the levels playable on the Wii, although GSW says the WiiWare version of Made in Ore will have “limited functionality.”

Note that in Japan, the WarioWare series is called Made in Wario and “ore” is the Japanese word for “I” or “me.”

All the WarioWare releases have been tied to a specific guiding gimmick, so it is pretty cool to hear word of one where the gimmick is design-and-share. Naturally, there is no word on a release outside of Japan. From the looks of the screens, this one could be a localization nightmare.

This game is going to be awesome. I suck way to much to be able to make any good levels myself. but there is such a huge community of people that will go to town with this. It will be a Wario Ware game with an endless supply of levels. Pure Awesome.
